Thrangu House running costs are about £30,000. This money pays for bills, repairs, food, disposables and Lama Wangyal’s living costs. We also need to find money to pay for visiting teachers and their supporters. We manage to cover these costs with your generous donations.

We are also raising funds for projects such as the Monastery project, where we have borrowed to invest in residential property so that in the next 10 years we are able to build and run a Monastery. We also collect donations for Thrangu Rinpoche’s projects such as Namo Buddha and Tara Abbey. Through the kindness of 800 donors, we were able to raise more than $100,000 for the monks and other victims of April’s earthquake in Tashi Choling monastery in Tibet.

Andre de Vries is a long serving member of Thrangu House and student of Thrangu Rinpoche. Andre has been a great help to Lama, speaking and translating amongst different languages, including Tibetan.
